Addition:
I am talking about the word "jmte", this word can mean "beside",
"next to" but it can also mean "together with", "in addition to".
In this case I think it has the second meaning, that is both farms
burned down, and that this is the reason the writer thinks they may
have been next to each other at that time.
If it had the first meaning, then the writer would have known that
the farms were next to each other, and he would not have written
"ev." ("eventuellt" = "maybe").
