My grandfather John Casch was born near Kiel in January 1867. At the time of
his birth the area was part of Denmark. In 1871 the area became part of
Germany. Would his birth records be in Danish archieves or would they have
become German archieve records in 1871? Has anyone had experience with this
type of situation?
