In a message dated 96-09-17 11:35:00 EDT, you write:
<< >I received a letter today back from Monroe County Historian, I'm looking
into

help
>me or point me in the right direction. I said in my letter I would pay for

than
>Monroe. Enclosed is a list of local genealogists who are available for

Since you said you enjoy doing this research yourself, be sure to check the
Family History Library Catalog at your nearby Family History Center (LDS).
Look up Washington County, NY and see what county level records are
available on microfilm. Then go back to the Index (Washington Co.) and press
F10. That will give you a list of all the towns in the county for which
records are availbale on film, fiche or books. You can order the films or
fiche, but not the books. But knowing what books exist will be a help
because you can have you public library look for them for you.
Only when you exhaust those resources will you have to hire help.
