Thanks to both Randy Sahr and Brian Leverich for their clarifying letters
about the RootsWeb Genealogical Data Cooperative. For a long time (as I
wrote Marc) I've looked at the messages to support Rootsweb and wondered how
to do it. I'm very busy and rarely surf or get out on the Net, but yesterday
decided to go to the RootsWeb site. If you, like me, haven't been, GO. There
is so much there that I will be returning again and again.

I found I could become a Member for $12 a year or a Sponsor for $24. Not
bad, even for someone like me on an extremely limited budget. One dollar a
month?? I mailed my $12 check and I'm glad I did it. Maybe next year I'll
plan to up to $24.

These lists (I belong to several) are well worth supporting, though in my
opinion, GEN-NYS is the best. I haven't yet been fortunate enough to find
any hard family data on GEN-NYS, but what a marvelous "how to" and "where"
resource. We certainly have many very knowledgeable people who are always
