In some states they are open according to Norman Wright's book Preserving
Your American Heritage , Brigham Young Univ. Press, 1974 pg. 107 which states
"divorce is a civil court action ...they are public records." I have found
them in a book in one NYS county, but have heard of others who were refused.

Chris Gillette, are you monitoring this? Can you help us with the law here?
