Subject: Lost in New York

Comfort Shaw,b. 1765 Stonington, CT , moved with Thomas CURTIS and family
(his wife was Bridget Curtis) to Rens. Co. NY.....Stephentown, about
1787. Stephentown was one of those places where several families moved
to from one location.....why? we don't know. Comfort died in 1848 and
although some of his children still lived there, Bridget was not with
them. Bridget either remarried before 1850 or died or moved to ?????? I
never found her after her husband Comfort's death.

The Thomas Curtis family, meantime, moved to Cattaraugus Co., NY.
Did Bridget go with them? Is anyone related to the Stephentown Co.
Curtises? There were two families of SHAW there in Stephentown. The
family of Anthony Shaw of RI, and the family of Comfort Shaw .

Bridget (Curtis) Shaw was born ca 1767 a daughter of Thomas and Bridget
(Crandall) Curtis. She married Comfort, son of Comfort and Ruth
(Lanphear) Shaw about 1788. First son Daniel or David b. 1789.

I'm going to digress right here and tell you that the writing of that day
the names Daniel and David look very much alike. Can you "see" it in
your mind's eye? So I don't know if he was David or Daniel.

Jesse Shaw Sr. was a son of Comfort and Bridget (Curtis) Shaw. He was b.
1792 in Stephentown. He married Delight Swan.

I would like to clear up some ??? in my SHAW/CURTIS lines. If there's
anyone out there related, I'd share what I know with you.

Thanks folks for reading this, and for any information you may have on
these lines.
