Shelter Island is in Suffolk County. It is a Town of its own; one of the
10 Towns of Suffolk County. It is located between the North Fork of Long
Island [Town of Southold] and the South Fork [Town of Southampton and Town
of East Hampton]. Any map of New York State will show Shelter Island if
you look between the two forks of eaastern Long Island.
