The Town of Pittstown still exists as a real live town in Rensselaer
County, about 15 miles northeast of Troy, New York. It may not appear on
general purpose state road maps as those maps often omit the towns of New
York, but it's there nonetheless. If you con't find, you probably can
find Tomhannock Reservoir, which lies entirely within the the boundaries
of the town. The northern border of the town is the Hoosic River.
