Lonny:
I remember reading about Pietro in the "Long Island Forum." I thought his
story was interesting. At the time, I didn't know he was my ancestor. I
just spent some time flipping thru' my back issues of the "Forum." Couldn't
find the article. When I do, I'll post some information from it. Recently,
thanks to a real gem of a Long Island genealogist, Richard McCool, I found
that I have a line that connects to this man who the "Forum" article called
Long Island's first Italian. Since Italians are just about the largest
ethnic group on Long Island today, but mostly descended from the Great
Italian Migration of 1880-1914, I was interested in seeing an Italian so
early on Long Island. Pietro gives me one tiny ancestral link to Italy.
