Yes, this Gazetteer is a must -- but if you don't happen to have that $59 handy, you might try looking on the County GenWeb site for your county of interest. Jefferson County, N. Y.'s site has its whole section of French's Gazetteer on-line -- and I know of 3 others who have their's on-line, I think I typed two of those -- but forgot which ones, now (Otsego, for one??, Lewis may have been the other and I might have done Montgomery -- so forgetful). Would be nice to see more volunteers get busy doing the counties for which one hasn't been typed.

It wasn't an easy typing job, but ah....the sense of accomplishment when done.
