Hi Jimmy: Many thanks for your response. Yes, the 2 references you quote are in fact, mine! I belong to the Isle-of-Man.com mailing list, as well as several "Manx Bulletin Boards". I do appreciate
your efforts however.
Your reference to the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society site is most appreciated, and very interesting - I've had a quick look and am particularly intrigued with the "ProQuest Database"
link. I will spend some time tomorrow investigating the whole site.
Unfortunately, I am unable to give you any more info re David's death. I only know he died in the year 1871. This info was obtained from the Handbook of Texas site and when I emailed them for further
particulars, was not lucky enough to receive any reply.
Also, many thanks for referring my query to your friend. I will be most pleased to hear back from you should she come up with anything on my behalf.
