Hello to the List,
This is my first posting to this list. I am trying to trace a
relative, Thomas George Powell, who left his family in England, on 9
September, 1905 on the "Philadelphia" arriving in New York 16 Sept
1905 to join the "Brown Bros". I presume the 'brown' referred to
the cassocks the order wore.
TGP was born in Surrey, England circa 1859. His occupation was
Coachman/Motor Cab Driver.
Parents names Thomas and Sarah.
As he obviously landed in New York for whatever reason, I decided to
post to this list hoping someone might offer some suggestions for
further research.
I would like to discover if there is any truth to the story, i.e.
which order did he join, and to find where and when he died.
Thank you,
Lorraine (Far North Queensland)
