He was not a Count. The Counts Zichy descend from Istvan Zichy (1616-1693)
who was created a Baron in 1655 and a Count in 1680. Mihaly was descended
from Istvan's uncle, and so not included in either ennoblement.

Mihaly Zichy von Zich (* Zala 15.10.1827 + Petersburg 2.3.1905) was a son
of Janos Zichy von Zich by his wife Sophia, daughter of Ferenc Bezeredy von
Bezered. See Witting, *Niederoesterreischische Laendstandige Adel*, Band
II, S. 635, right-hand column, towards the bottom.
