Lady Bowes-Lyon, who died 28 October, 2007, was the widow of a cousin
of the Queen and an aunt of Brig Andrew Parker Bowles, 1st husand of
The Duchess of Cornwall.

She was born Mary de Trafford, in 1920, a daughter of Sir Humphrey
Edmund de Trafford, MC, 4th Baronet, and was a sister of Ann de
Trafford who married Derek Parker Bowles, father of Andrew. Another
sister Catherine married the racehorse trainer Fulke Walwyn. Mary
married in 1941, Major-General Sir Francis James Cecil Bowes-Lyon,
KCVO, CB, OBE, MC (1917-77), scion of the Earls of Strathmore and
Kinghorne, and a cousin of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. She
leaves a son, John (b 1942) a son David (b 1947), who married Harriet
Colville, a goddaughter of the Queen and scion of the Viscounts
Colville of Culross; and a daughter Fiona Ann (b 1944) wife of Joseph
Goodhart. A Requiem Mass for friends will take place at The Brompton
Oratory, on Wednesday 21st November.
