My husband and I seem to have decided to spend the winter farther south (we
live in Maine). We plan to spend three months in eastern North Carolina,
where we'll rent an apartment or condo. We haven't done this before. I'll
be spending the winter doing research in that area.

What should we take with us? Here I'm thinking about things not only for
personal and household use, but also from my genealogy books and files.

How can we best prepare ourselves for a smooth, successful season?
