I don't know which Easington it was Marlene - I didn't watch the programme .
. I watched a similar one in 2003 & thought it all rather biased towards the
Sarf ... So didn't wish to watch it this time ... It's caused a lot of
devision - with lots saying the programme was "rubbish" --- and lots more
saying they were "spot on" ........ LOL .........
BTW - where were you when you saw the programme .. ? .......... You back
home again .. ? .........
My Mum was wearing clogs when she had an accident to her ankle/foot
at the factory she worked at in the afternoon during the war, what they
were like I have no idea couldn't even tell you what kind of shoes my Mum
used to wear, my sister and I got shoes twice a year during the war, Mum
saved up money to clothe us overall for the Christmas from Coat inwards
and shoes and socks, in the late spring it was a dress and shoes, later
the war and after Mum and Dad separated, we got concession coupons
to get shoes from selected shops as well as free dinners.
Saw the 10 Worst Places to live the other day and was going to write on
it but was pretty tied up ...... What I wanted to know is ..Which Easington
is it .... there are quite a few in my Gazetteer .... guess it has to go
