No Pat, it isn`t. So sorry to hear Shaun is not well, do hope things improve, hugs all round!
Just to keep you up to date with himself - he's been having a lot of mobility problems recently & today we saw his hospital consultant for his pump refill & a chat. He wants Shaun to have an MRI & a brain scan. He said it could be down to more deterioration to his discs, the catheter from the pump causing problems, an sensitivity to the Bipivocain (sp ??) local anaesthetic or a neurological problem.
He said he doesn't like the symptoms Shaun's having - the numbness from the waist down, the tingling in one side of his body & the way his legs suddenly wobble under him & he can't walk or stand properly - & he wants the MRI & brain scan done urgently.
We should have an appointment letter within a week & as soon as it arrives with a scan date, we have to let the pain clinic know cos they have to turn Shaun's pump off. An MRI can cause problems with metal objects in the body & it can also cause the computer in the pump to malfunction. So, someone has to be on hand to turn it all off, make sure it's all OK & turn it back on again when the scan is over.
The consultant has also told Shaun not to drive until he gets hand controls fitted on the car - which has been sorted & is being done tomorrow.
Sigh. Life certainly isn't boring, is it ?
