I suppose I hadn't or haven't given much thought to this subject, not
because we Cavills were free of all illnesses, aches & pains etc., more that
we all had that "Thank goodness that's all over and done with" attitude. I
remember being given or put on me, cod liver oil malt, orange concentrate,
milk, plenty of water to drink, hot milk, "Ovaltine", "Vick", "Vaseline",
vinegar, ear drops, vegetables, not nearly as much fresh fruit as I should
have had or wanted, salt water, the odd "Elastoplast", and that wonder
cure....spit on a handkerchief. Rain didn't rust us, or cause us to "catch
our death"; the wind didn't burn us, snow & ice didn't hurt us other than
the harmless "hot aches", and we didn't laze in the sun. Unfortunately,
there was no cure or known cure for mental pain; and God only knows that we
Cavills had enough of that.
