Edward et al:
The slang I'm familiar with is "Heading for the
rhubard"...meaning "taking off"...getting away from trouble/the
law, irate parents etc. or escaping to a quieter place.
Right about now, I feel like "heading for the rhubard"...
Summer holidays.....kids...two boys...argue..tease...ugh. I feel
like hiding (perhaps under a rhubard leaf?)
Rhubarb custard pie..now that's my kinda pie...love it but I
remember as a child sitting on the backporch with a big stalk of
rhubarb and a paper muffin cup full of sugar given to me by my
mother. It kept me busy for a while and I was always amazed that
my mother actually gave me a container of pure sugar...usually a
"no-no" in our house.
