Hello all,
What a fun time I've had reading everything the past couple of days on this
list. This is truly remarkable! Makes me feel like I could just jump in an'
say what I feel, which I think I shall do!
There's so many discussions goin' on at the moment, but one I thought I might
comment on was someone's comment about "Americans". Kind of a
generalization, hey? I mean, I'm American, but my roots are Canadian and
Scottish. Actually, I'd rather think of myself as Scots because I totally do
not agree with all this military crap that goes on here. I mean, I don't see
why we can't keep our noses out of everyone's business. You know? Most of
the stuff our military does has no business whatsoever with defending our
country. It's pretty much just us saying, "Gosh, we're big and strong and we
should help you 'cuz it makes us look good." Don't ya think?
Ok, I guess I'm just weird, that's just what I think. Guess that's why I'm
glad I've found my Scots roots. If I was to be in the military, I'd rather b
e fighting for my OWN country and something I believe in. Like Wallace did.
Am I totally daft? Or do others feel this way too?
Cheryl
