I ran the surname thru HQ index.
The ones who show up as born in Canada in the 1920 are:

Anthony Lidgate, age 61, male, race "T" b. CANA, living in Hawaii
Richard Lidgate, age 24, male, W, b.CANA, living in Essex, NJ
Winifred Lidgate, age 51, female, b CANA, living in Seattle, King Co. WA

The 1930 isn't indexed. If you get desperate, maybe you could browse
Bellingham. That can be tedious unless you are really lucky.

I haven't brought up the census sheets, but will if you want me to.
None of the other Lidgates (total of 10) showed any association with
Canada or the Northwest.

If anyone has any other suggestions, I would be grateful. He has two
elderly nieces who were born after he went missing. It would be nice to
know if he married and had children. His draft registration card indicates
that he was single.
