My mystery is the burial of both my great grandmother and also her father.
She is Annie A. Littlefield of WELLS MAINE , married to FRED A . SMITH of YORK MAINE abt 1895 . They had a son born Oct. 1, 1877 named Frank Henery Smith . Annie died Oct. 23, 1877 . She is the daughter of George Wheelwright Littlefield and Caroline Tibbet / Tibbett . I have a copy of the plaque from her coffin which gives all the information . I also have a 50th anniversary newspaper item telling of her and Fred as my grandfather's parents . I do believe that I and other's have checked every thing that can be checked in and around Wells ME but can not find where she is buried .
Her father , George , killed himself with a gun while living in Mystic CT where his family had moved to in 1880 and his body was taken back to Maine , at Wells Beach in ME , for burial but I also can't find where he is buried . He died Jan. 1895 and was taken to Maine in March .
I also have the adoption paper telling of his father giving him up for adoption in 1892 and it was to a Helen M. Littlefield , she is most likely the sister of Annie . On the adoption paper it tells that Annie had died .
I have been at this for about 30 years .
Can anyone help ? I would love to know where they are buried .
