This is all getting a little frightening. I, like many others do free look-ups when time permits. I do not gain anything except satisfaction. What about when you have collected lots of information on a family from lots of data bases over the years and you send these to another person studying the same family. If it is illegal it will be not only be my loss but other researchers as well. Legally it seems that it may better to be a professional researcher. I am at a loss to see the difference. Am I breaking the law? Am I on shaky ground? Or are these views verging on pedantic? Are there any other legal eagles out there who can back up the claim by Elwyn?
