Maybe you (and the group) will be interested in the book "Tasmanian
Photographers 1840-1940 - A Directory" by Chris Long. It was published in
1995 by the Tas'n Historical Research Association (PO Box 441 Sandy Bay
7005). They may have copies left.
The book lists photographers alphabetically and some entries have a lot of
biographical info, dates, addresses where they worked from and some have
examples of the photographers work. I could look up some examples if you
like.
