Hi Jenny,
I had the self-same problem. The answer was simple. The births from the
Victorian and NSW indexes were correct, and the information supplied to the IGI
was incorrect. Some goose had indexed a family from DeBrett's peerage, taken
the names from the book (which did not specify birthplace) and ASSUMED the
births took place in the family seat in England. Disregard the IGI is my
advice.
