Wim - I am inclined to agree with your analysis. I love this program despite the quirks. I am concerned, however, by the small number of people who appear on this list. I hope that this is NOT indicative of how well GB is doing in the marketplace as a whole. If the user base is truly as small as the number of users on this list would seem to indicate, this could be a bad sign for those of us who want to use this program.
However, if Bill is willing to wait it out and see how the user base develops and grows, then we may be okay--or if there really more users out there and the list just doesn't reflect that fact. I certainly don't want to see the rug jerked out from under those of us who want this program to be around for a long time. But if a user base isn't there or doesn't develop, we could be in for a big shock down the road. I certainly hope that it is not the case. After using GB, I, for one, would hate to go back to anything else.

As I said in that post too: Genbox is in my opinion getting better and
better at that. Maybe it's because I'm doing any data-entry more and more
according to the way Genbox operates, or because I have tuned my database
to
my liking (especially changing events, sentences, sourceformatting, etc.
required closing and reopening the database), but I rarely have to close
and
reopen it lately.
My most wanted features at the moment are a "Source Clipboard" of some
sort
(like in Legacy) and a feature to globally (re)set attributes on the
entire
database or a selection of it. What kind of extra navigation would you
like
to see? The Lists, filtered Pick-lists, the Pedigree-tab, the Link-tab in
a
couple of Views, and the hyperlink-fields are a great way to navigate
through the database.
For me Genbox is the most promising genealogy program. It isn't perfect
yet,
but the databasedesign is in my opinion superior to the main programs
currently on the market.
