Thanks Paul and Cheri,
This has really been a thinking out loud process for me. Yes, I have been
using the Evidence Tab for Sources, it's one of my favourite features of GB.
I have not only linked the file location to an Event but also to the Source.
Cheri, it was more out of curiosity that I asked why one can't include Word
Docs in reports on the Media Tab, when one can include them in the picture
library.
I'm part of a fairly active group of researchers ( spread all over the
world) of one branch of my family. We exchange e-mails which may have
attachments of Word Docs., scans of certificates etc coming from a variety
Repositories. The e-mails normally contain an explanation of 'what, where
and why'. It's getting to the point where I'm having difficulty finding what
I've stored where on my computer. I'm trying to think of a system which
would act as a filing system as well as showing links to Events, Sources,
correspondence and researchers etc. Perhaps I'm asking too much?
Paul, why do you copy the contents of your Word Document to the Clip Board
and then to the Evidence Tab? Why not straight from the Word Document, I've
never used the Clip Board, so I expect there is a good technical reason for
doing it your way.
I always have a problem joining in the discussions on this List, when
most of you are online it is late in the evening here and my brain has
normally gone into sleep mode, so I hope this e-mail makes sense <g>
