Henri,
You see correctly, as there is no DIRECT link between a Source and a Person.
All Source links are through Citations. That is what a Citation Record is, a
link between an Assertion and a Source.
As is often the case in Genbox, there are multiple ways to do what you want.
Works
=====
One way is to do as Cheri suggested. You can d-click the link at the Source
to open the Citation, then d-click the name on the Assertion Tab to open the
Individual View for the subject person. A drawback to this method is that
every time you return to the link list at the Source, the link you had
previously selected is no longer highlighted and it is hard to keep track of
your progress. Also, one individual may have many links at the source, and
they may not be grouped together.
Better
======
Another approach is similar, but a little better. Open the Citation View,
click on the filter button in the header row (to right of top row in view
with a little funnel on it). There are some very powerful filtering options
here. Near the bottom is a field labeled "Source." Enter the ID or Name of
the source in question, then click the "Update" button to the right. This
will filter the Citation View to contain ONLY Citations to your target
Source. Click on the Set Filter button. You can now scroll through the
Citations, using the navigation buttons on the toolbar. Again, as before,
you can d-click the name on the Assertion Tab to get to the Individual View
of the linked people. Also, as before, there will be multiple records for
the same person. The improvement is in keeping track of where you are as you
scroll through the Citations, rather than losing your place in the links
window at the Source.
Best
====
I think this is what you want: Query to create a list of Individuals that
are linked to this Source. Tools Menu>Search for Individuals. When the
dialog opens, click on "Clear All." Select the Notes Tab. In the lower half
is a box labeled "Citations:" with a field labeled "Source:." Enter your
source name or ID here then click on "Search." The List View will open with
the Query Results and present you with a unique (no duplicates) list of
individuals who are in some way connected through a Citation to this Source.
With the List View open beside the Individual View, clicking on a name will
cause the Individual View to synchronize with that name. The highlighted row
in List View remains in place, or you can delete the name from the list as
you go, adding your new event.
Hope all this helps in some way.
Regards,
Paul

Subject: [GENBOX] links from sourceview
I'm trying out to find the lead from a person, mentioned as a link in the
Sourceview, to that persons Individual View. I don't see any possibility to
go directly from the link. If I doubleclick on the name in the link, I end
up in the Citationview. And from there I also don't end at that persons
Individual View.
I need this, because I want to make an new event for the people, mentioned
in the sources. So, I open the source, go to the links and by clicking on
the desired person I go directly to his/hers Individual View. Is it possible
and on what way?
Regards,
Henri
