Peggy - I'm sorry that you feel learning this software is the "pits." I found it, in large part, intuitive when it comes to data entry and using linked features. I, too, escaped from TMG and would not go back for anything. The features of GenBox far outweigh any negativities. I struggle with reports and queries, but that is a different story. Projects really help me stay organized and I use it to keep lots of notes and other random bits of info that I need to keep a handle on.
I'm surprised that you would go back to TMG after struggling with GenBox Project features. TMG doesn't even have Projects (as GenBox uses the terms). And the wonderful features that GenBox has that TMG doesn't have make it well worth the learning curve. As you say, TMG does have videos and tutorial books, but they were not created by Wholly Genes -- they were put together by users. You can get all of the user help for Genbox right here on this list and no one is making any money off giving assistance.
Have you looked at Michel's on-line tutorials?
