Thanks for the reply, Wim. I've considered most of your suggestions,
then started playing around with some other stuff.

Hey, folks -- anyone know if it's possible to link an individual to one
half of a set of parents?
Quick synopsis -- I don't know which wife is the mother of a man's children.
When entering the children from the parent's screen, I'm forced to
choose one of the spouses. I tried choosing one then later delinking the
mother, but GenBox doesn't allow that. It insists on delinking BOTH parents.
So instead, I tried creating a new individual, then going to the parent
tab and only entering the father. This worked -- sort of -- with the
child linked to the father, but neither mother. However, GenBox instead
automatically generated an "(unknown spouse)" entry for the father --
one for each child. The result: the father has twelve wives and twelve
families.
However, since these (unknown spouse)s aren't actual database entries,
there's no way to delete or merge them directly. This is what I tried: I
created an "unknown spouse" database entry (with name "//"), associated
all the (unknown spouse)s with that individual, then 1) delinked that
spouse from the father; 2) deleted the third marriage record and finally
3) deleted the individual.
However, when I brought up the father's record again, the (unknown
spouse) ghost was back.
Unless anyone has a better suggestion, I guess I'm going to leave it
this way. The father is shown with three families, but only two
marriages, which is half-way to what I wanted.
