I am doing something else wrong now.
Same problem as before but this time I have swapped the parents ok but
the childbirth event has not swapped to the new parents.

After changing the child's parents, inside the parent tab. The Summery
page shows I have the childbirth event with the wrong child and Under
Children the correct name/sex is entered OK but no birth.
Do I have to transfer the birth event as you referred to under the
movement of other events?
I cannot remember doing this last time.

Many Thanks
Roger
