It may not be a joke--if not it is out and out fraud -- I first heard this
story when I way living in the west in the late 70's early 80's.

It could be considered slander if it got to the correct person. Whne they
trace the emails the first sender found could be found liable.

Dear Judy,
Geeze, here I am on this list too, and I never signed up either. Could we
be the unwitting victims of the serial duplicate lister. I also found
myself on a Canada.listserve.nortrhwest.com list I did not sign up for.
Come on, Mr. listserv, forcing people on to your lists is only going to
make them angry and will not gain you members. I advise you to unsubscribe
all the 6oo some you are said to subscribed for the New York list, and who
knows how many to the Canada list. Im offa here!

I have a marriage certificate with the ages of bride and groom listed as
"full". I am guessing this means they didn't know their ages, but were of
legal age? What would this legal age be?

The marriage takes place in Lavendon, Buckinghamshire in 1876. All parties
signed "by his/her mark," witnesses included; the groom and both fathers
were labourers.

I have a marriage which occurred at the Independent Wesleyan Chapel in
Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, in 1876. I confess to ignorance as far as
John Wesley and the Methodist Church goes. Can anyone point me towards
enlightenment, especially as to its existence in the time period above?

Thanks,
Dave McNeilly

I'm researching a family who were lightermen from Bermondsey, Surrey over
several generations, circa 1800-1850. Does anyone know of a book detailing
the occupation and life of a master lighterman? I know the occupation was a
little more reputable than Gaffer Hexam's doings on the Thames in "Our
Mutual Friend"!

HAYERS; BKM,ENG; anytime

My mother was Gwendoline HAYERS, b. Beaconsfield, BKS, 1913. Her father
Rupert Sheppard HAYERS, b B'field, BKS, 1884. His father, George HAYERS, b.
Seer Green, BKS, 1860. George's father Thomas b. Wycome? or Gt. Missenden?,
BKS 1831, had 6? children by first wife Mary and appears to have married
again (Rosalie ?). Is anyone researching this name. If any info available,
would be most interested.
On line phone book for UK shows 15 HAYERS in the general vicinity of
Beaconsfield. If any of you have e-mails addresses I would like to
communicate with you privately.
Thanks

Hiya!
My GGGGrndfather James HAGGART was b.Nov 07 1777 in Perthshire and was
married to Jannet Robertson b. 1808 d.March 09, 1864.
I found this Ref to him from the the book, "The History of the County of
Pictou" by the Rev. George
Patterson (pub. in 1877- found on page 283 - about the name HAGGART:
"It may be mentioned that in the years just previous [1810 - 1816], James
HAGGART, from the parish of Kenmore, in Perthshire, with others from Blair
Athole, settled in the valley of Peidmont".)
(Nova Scotia Canada).

How would I go about Finding his Parents/Siblings, contacting the Parish of
Kenmore, or even
where is Kenmore?

Thankyou
