The occupation list printed in Family Chronicals Magazine states:
JOINER or JOYNER: skilled carpenter.
The Internet Occupations list says: Craftsman who works with
wood.
The Collins English Dictionary says: a maker of furniture and
light woodwork.
Sounds like varying degrees of skill in the same trade.
