The only Tamar I've ever heard of was the Mongol, Tamerlane. Anyway, Tamar
IS a river in Devonshire which flows SW into the English Channel. It is
also a river in N. Tasmania, Australia which flows north into the Bass
Strait. It is also an ancient Syrian city N of Damascus in the Syrian
desert, modern name Palmyra.
