I have had great success with the Outdoor Leisure Map 18, Snowdonia, Harlech
and Bala areas (2 1/2 inches to the mile). I was able to find almost all the
farms and houses my ancestors lived in. I found it more helpful than the
original Osrdnance Survey map for Harlech and Bardsey, Sheet 31 (1 inch to 1
mile), although that was helpful, also. It had a few houses I could not find on
the Leisure map, but not the number of houses on the Leisure map. It was
harder to read than the Leisure map, because of all the black lines. So, if
you can find them for your area, I would suggest using them both.
