Yes, I agree with Cathy,
The one-inch Victorian reprints for England and Wales can be difficult
due to the hill-shading, unfortunately this is also a problem with the
Irish series but the Scottish reprints are much clearer due to their
using contour lines.

Both series of maps contain a wealth of information for the family and
local historian and should, as Cathy has, be used with a good modern
map.
