Don't forget that Oliver Cromwell's paternal line were actually WILLIAMS'

His father was Sir Richard Cromwell (Baronet) and his grandfather
was Morgan ap Williams from Whitchurch near Cardiff who had married a
sister of Thomas Cromwell Earl of Essex.

Richard had taken the name CROMWELL on entering the earl's service.
