Not to beat on too long about the old days in Medieval times quite a few
barons clocked up their century. Thomas Corbet of Caus, Salop, named after
Thomas Becket seems to have made 100, while Brian Brampton of Herefordshire
was told, when aged about 80 in 1277 to leave the royal army at Worcester as
he was far too old for campaigning. The first 3 Mortimers of Wigmore also
seem to have made it into their 80's at least. Best wishes, Paul Remfry,
Malvern, UK.
