As an ex bank officer/manager I would advise that Telegraphic transfer is
the safest way, it is a little more expensive but funds can be traced and
customers can be advised of the receipt of funds. It is very easy and
successful to do ESPECIALLY IN AUSTRALIA. International transfers used to
cost around A$27.00 they may be more expensive now but the customer
receiving the funds can be phoned on receipt if the sender requests this.
They send it in the currency of the receiver so there will be no need to
convert a second time saving funds and there should not be any charges from
the receiving end....at least that is the way it works in Australia. I
suggest that you have a good conversation with a senior bank officer in the
international section and make up your own mind.
