Have it as you wish. I've told you that RFC1855 *is* an accepted
standard of Netiquette, having been adopted by the usenet community,
but you choose to explore every avenue to prove that it isn't.
There are other documents in news.announce.newusers that regurgitate
the same advice, but there is little point in pointing them out to
you. You have set your mind against accepting anything that you are
told, and are determined to assert your "right" to do exactly as you
please.
As with much on usenet, there are few sanctions against those who
flout rules and conventions (although there are some ISPs who will
close accounts for doing what you did). The main sanction which does
exist for those who won't play by the rules the rest of us accept is
simple.
