I take your point. but as I recall when you felt compelled to break the
'rule' you did point out your awareness that this was something one
would not normally do. As did I, in another List, when I re-posted some
actual death threats I had received.
Unfortunately, the person in this case seems to take the view that he
need not pay attention to netiquette merely because he does not choose
to ... which is rather different.
Despite its provenance the private email concerned here, although it
contained strong views, was not particularly outrageous or nasty. I
still think that, in this case, Robin Baker was wrong, based on his own
explanations, ... just as I take the other view under the circumstances
you describe.
