Though everyone, apart from me, seems to have suggested that eius
m refers to the month, I just don't see this.

I'm sure this is referring to the person swearing the affidavit.
'eius' is a statement of family relationship - with 'm' most
likely being mother. I wonder whether there are other references
in the registers - eiusp when the father makes the affidavit.
