Aldershot seems to have been under Farnham RD in the very early days
before being moved under some kind of reorganisation before my family
arrived in the area. Although the 1881 census says Eliza Gaskins was
born in Aldershot, she was registered at Farnham so I guess they must
have been living somewhere on the outskirts of Aldershot rather than
Aldershot itself. I've now sent for the certificates and will be able to
answer the problem - with luck!
