I don't believe we need yet another general-purpose website. Existing
Rootsweb mailing lists serve a very useful purpose and there is no need for
individual county lists which have basically taken the names of Rootsweb
lists but stuck 'british.genealogy.com' on the end. People prefer to have a
choice and the opportunity to be part of a more localised list.
These new lists forbid the 'advertising' of lookups from subscribers. Sounds
a bit like Rod's worried that someone might just pass on some information
from one of his CDs instead of buying it to obtain one tiny bit of info.
