Thanks to everyone who has answered so far.
Before I asked this question I did extensive searches by Google, including for
Keith Michell but I was not convinced that I had identified the story I was
after. I am inclined to think that it might well have been Captain Beaky but it
is the title of the programme/story that bothers me. It was something like "Tim
and his friend's adventures with Captain Beaky and the pirates". Now, I am
really floundering here and this is only a dim memory but the title was
something like that.
Sorry, I can't remember anything about the story itself but it was done in a
studio setting and I think it was recited rather than acted. I think there were
about 8 celebrities taking part. At a guess I would have put it in the early
70s (remember I saw it on NZ TV and we do tend to be a bit behind). My wife has
suggested that Jim Parker wrote the music. Sounds like the sort of thing he
would have done but I am not sure of that.
Thanks again
Michael (still sunny in Hamilton - no Autumn fog!)
