You can't have a second baptism, unless the Parish Priest was
deliberately
kept in ignorance of the first one, or the first baptism was not lawful.
Alas, we will never know the true facts.
But the facts remain, I have a Birth Cert dated 21st Feb. 1888 (Birth
date)
A first baptism in the Wesleyan Chapel dated 19th March 1888 "No
Father" (illegitimate)
A second baptism in the Parish Church dated 15th April 1888 with a named
father.
Hence my question, was the gentleman being chivalrous or being named &
shamed?
