Roy - in case you have not noticed we EXCHANGE look ups
many have contributed data to my tree saving me days of research and travel expensese

So naturally I do what is easy for me for the benefit of others
- sort of good samaritan stuff, or boy scout "deed a day"

you live in the greedy souith east of england and seem to be a victim of that subculture

I spend one to two hours a day as an admin on http://www.ancestry.com/share/
and each day I learn something new about genealogy

"my Notifications" has just come in in the form of two emails listing 32 new messages
on the 413 boards I look after and the handful more I read

I specialize in scandinavian surnames, places I know and census

there are many vacancies for ADMINS
the google search string
site:boards.ancestry.com "become an admin"

finds thousands of them

badly needs "cleaning up" at a quick look of 66 only about 5 messages or so on topic the rest need to be moved - spam gets deleted

the thread "a descendant of Thomas Yorkshire, born about 1750,place unknown. He died on Feb. 20, 1837 in Augusta Co. Virginia" is OK
the rest are misplaced
