Naturally one doesn't want to feed it - but at least that in this group we
are trying to elicit information, despite the differences of opinion which
are really a sideshow. In political and religious groups they are the main
point of the group - and really they can be just feeding frenzies. And if
the moderators don't say enough is enough after a while, and ending the
discussion - and indeed saying enough of that language/accusation - like a
good chairman does - otherwise the only people who will remain are the
extremists (or the terribly thick-skinned).
In a political/religious group there is no other purpose (eg genealogical
information) to stay around for.
