Well, truth be told, a lot of us need to get a life, or at least
reinvest in the other parts of the one we already have. But that's a
separate question from how we conduct ourselves while we're online.

Unfortunately, without some of the controls embodied in face-to-face
human contact (such as empathy, and the possibility of getting punched
in the nose), civility takes a beating. Which is not to say that
civility isn't under attack elsewhere, too--but to too many people
(most of them the male variety, for reasons too complicated to go into
here), the Net is a place where they can say anything they want
without having to deal with the consequences. This may be the future,
but it sure isn't progress.

Best,

K-Mac
