I don't wish to malign your uncle, but a propos of nothing in particular, I
think that's one of the points about claimed unreliability of things like
8-track tape and all the other formats people have mentioned in this
thread....people carelessly threw stuff away without making copies because
it didn't occur to them that there might be a need. Which is more in the
nature of people than a fault in the machine...
